Aims

Ainara Journal (Jurnal Penelitian dan PKM Bidang Ilmu Pendidikan) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that provides an academic platform for the publication and dissemination of high-quality research and community engagement in the field of education.

The journal aims to advance educational theory and practice by prioritizing empirical and evidence-based research, particularly quantitative studies that provide robust evidence regarding educational interventions, relationships, effects, and outcomes. Experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational, survey, development, and other rigorous quantitative research designs are particularly encouraged.

Qualitative research, mixed-methods studies, Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR), bibliometric studies, and other relevant approaches are also welcomed. Such manuscripts are expected to demonstrate a clearly articulated research gap, strong novelty, methodological rigor, and substantive contribution beyond merely describing phenomena, mapping publications, or summarizing existing literature.

In response to emerging developments in education, Ainara Journal particularly encourages research addressing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning and emerging educational technologies, while continuing to accommodate broader innovations and contemporary issues in education.

Scope

Ainara Journal publishes original scholarly works in education, with particular emphasis on learning innovation, empirical educational research, AI-enhanced learning, and evidence-based educational practices. The journal's scope includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Learning and Education
    AI-based and AI-enhanced learning, generative AI in education, intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning, AI-supported assessment and feedback, human–AI interaction in learning, AI literacy, personalized learning, and the pedagogical, ethical, and responsible integration of AI into educational practices.
  2. Learning Innovation
    Innovative learning models, methods, strategies, approaches, media, and learning environments, particularly those supported by empirical evidence regarding their effectiveness and educational impact.
  3. Learning and Teaching
    Teaching and learning processes, instructional practices, learning strategies, student engagement, learning outcomes, higher-order thinking skills, and approaches to improving the quality of learning.
  4. Educational Technology and Digital Learning
    Development, integration, implementation, and evaluation of digital technologies, virtual learning environments, learning management systems, virtual and augmented reality, mobile learning, digital learning resources, and emerging technologies in education.
  5. Development of Learning Models, Media, and Educational Resources
    Design, development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of learning models, instructional media, teaching materials, assessment instruments, and technology-enhanced educational resources.
  6. Assessment and Learning Evaluation
    Educational assessment, diagnostic assessment, formative and summative assessment, technology- and AI-supported assessment, development and validation of assessment instruments, and evaluation of learning outcomes.
  7. Curriculum Development and Evaluation
    Curriculum design, development, implementation, evaluation, and innovation, including curriculum transformation in response to technological developments, AI, learner needs, and societal change.
  8. Educational Management and Implementation
    Educational management, leadership, governance, quality assurance, implementation of educational programs, institutional development, and evidence-based strategies for improving educational quality.
  9. Teacher Education and Professional Development
    Pre-service and in-service teacher education, teacher competencies, digital and AI competencies, pedagogical practices, professional development, teacher identity, and continuous professional learning.
  10. Inclusive and Contextual Education
    Inclusive education, differentiated learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, indigenous and local knowledge in education, educational equity, and learning in diverse social and cultural contexts.
  11. Educational Psychology and Learner Development
    Cognitive, affective, social, emotional, motivational, and behavioral dimensions that directly contribute to understanding and improving educational processes and learner development.
  12. Community Engagement in Education
    Evidence-based community engagement programs that apply educational knowledge, models, technologies, or innovations to address identified educational needs and demonstrate systematic implementation and measurable outcomes.

Types of Manuscripts and Publication Priority

Ainara Journal gives publication priority to empirical quantitative research, particularly studies employing experimental and quasi-experimental designs, as well as other rigorous quantitative approaches capable of providing robust evidence concerning educational interventions, relationships, differences, predictors, or outcomes.

Research and Development (R&D), mixed-methods research, and other empirical designs are also encouraged when they demonstrate methodological rigor and clear educational contributions.

Qualitative research, Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR), and bibliometric studies remain eligible for publication; however, these manuscripts are expected to demonstrate a strong and explicit research gap, clear novelty, rigorous methodology, analytical depth, and significant theoretical or practical contribution. Manuscripts that merely describe phenomena, summarize previous studies, or present descriptive bibliometric mappings without substantive interpretation and novelty may not be prioritized for publication.

Regardless of the methodology employed, manuscripts should demonstrate a clear contribution to the advancement of educational knowledge, policy, technology, or practice.

Out of Scope

Manuscripts may be considered outside the scope of Ainara Journal when their primary focus does not demonstrate a clear and substantive connection to education, teaching and learning, educational technology, educational development, or community engagement in education.

Studies from other disciplines may be considered only when their research questions, theoretical foundations, methods, findings, and implications provide an explicit and meaningful contribution to educational knowledge or practice. Merely using students, teachers, schools, universities, or other educational institutions as research participants or settings does not automatically establish relevance to the journal's scope.
